The Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Minnesota Board on Aging conduct an annual comprehensive survey for assisted living licensure. Every assisted living community in Minnesota must participate. The Kenwood Senior Living exceeded the state average in all measured areas and metrics. The Kenwood achieved an overall average score of 94.9%, compared to the state average of 84.5%.
As part of the assisted living licensure process, a team of surveyors contacted residents and their families to gather feedback on their experiences. This rigorous evaluation ensures that assisted living communities maintain exacting standards of care and quality of life for residents.

The Resident Quality of Life survey assesses key areas such as:
- Respect and Dignity: How residents feel they are treated by staff.
- Meaningful Activities: The availability and quality of social and recreational programs.
- Personal Care: The effectiveness and responsiveness of care services.
- Environment: The cleanliness, comfort, and safety of the living space.
- Food Services: The quality and variety of meals.
- Overall Satisfaction: Residents’ and families’ general perception of the community.
“Our residents’ happiness and well-being are our top priorities,” Volkenant added. “We are grateful for the positive feedback from our residents and their families. We will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of senior living.”
