Kenwood Seniors bring home the Gold at Senior Olympics

While athletes were in Paris competing for their country, residents of The Kenwood Senior Living competed at the “Senior Olympics.” Seniors competed in eight events consisting of Belgium Bag Toss, Algerian Archery, Polish Puzzling, Lithuanian Ladders, Brazilian Ball Sort, German Golf Putt, Bulgarian Bounce, and American Laundry Race

Twenty-five residents of the Kenwood competed against each other in various events over the course of a week leading up to the Paris Olympics. Residents that did not compete came out to spectate and cheer for their friends and neighbors.

“The residents loved the competition and have already requested that the Senior Olympics be an annual tradition,” said Brandy Rhodes, activities director of The Kenwood. “There was fun buzz and energy around the community during our Senior Olympics which carried over into residents rooting for Team USA in the Paris Olympics.”

The Kenwood’s Senior Olympics had a closing ceremony where the competitors were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals.
