Kim Dayton is a Minnesota-based artist specializing in photography, painting, and mixed media collage. Come meet the artists at a wine a cheese reception at 1:30 p.m. on Friday April 22 at the Kenwood retirement community, 825 Summit Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. The social is free and open to the public.
Much of Dayton’s work draws on the natural landscapes of the Midwestern United States. In particular, her art depicts the wide open skies and muted colors of the Midwestern plains, and the lakes and forests of northern Minnesota and the Gunflint Trail, especially the region affected by the Ham Lake fire of 2007. Her paintings and photographs are in many private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She accepts commissions for projects that are consistent with her aesthetic approaches to art.
Dayton lives part time in Minneapolis and part time on the Gunflint Trail in far northern Minnesota, less than a mile from the Canadian border.
The Kenwood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
