Learn what life was like at Fort Snelling and overseas for members of Minnesota’s Greatest Generation. When the U.S. entered WWII, young Alan Woolworth enlisted in the army at Fort Snelling. Woolworth’s military service took him overseas to Europe where he was wounded in action. After the war he became a respected historian and spent many years with the Minnesota Historical Society.
